The patches were rejected because they didn't provide a working solution for cross platform support. The plugin system in Neovim is only "better" for people who actually want async plugins. I am not one of them.

Do you also blame Microsoft Word because it doesn't let you play movies?

Are you sure the crashes aren't caused by a plugin you installed? I have only experienced a handful of vim crashes but all of them were caused by plugins.

Terminator comes close, but to be honest, iTerm2 still beats it with its user friendliness and features. It's really interesting how OS X is the one that has a terminal emulator with the most features out there. iTerm2 now comes with 2

On the Mac, it seems pretty crazy you can't just do, with AppleScript: tell application "iTunes" to get (title, album, artist) of current track either with Apple Music or Beats 1. The strange this is that the above s

One of my favorite features of this release, is the inclusion of text objects and visual mode for vi-mode (bindkey -v). If anyone uses vi-mode instead of the default emacs-mode, they know how sorely text objects support was missing. Here&#x

For what it's worth, and for people with iOS (not sure if Android has a similar app), I use Hooks[1]. I set it to 500 karma threshold to notify me and that seems to have been working out fine so far. [1]: Hooks - Alerts for Everything

I think this is mostly due to the replacement cycle. Most people who want the iPad, bought one. But -- you don't replace an iPad every year or two like you do an iPhone. Even if you have the iPad 2 for instance, it's a very capabl

iTunes isn't crapware on OS X. It is on Windows though, I think mostly because Apple doesn't want to put too many resources into iTunes on Windows. iTunes on OS X runs better than any other music apps (that are not command line mu

Is it only me that seems to not care whatsoever about tiling window managers? I've tried them on Linux, for a good solid two months, still don't understand the fascination. On OS X, I just use Expose or Cmd-Tab and Cmd-` shortcuts

How is this different from apt-get? For any missing packages, or any outdated packages, you have to hunt for a ppa or you have to compile it yoursel while hunting for the correct configure switches if you want specific features like for vim

Well, the integration between HW/SW is the best on OS X because of the fact that Apple actually makes their own hardware, as well as the software. That means, you get HW/SW support from day ONE. That's key and you can never g

I do most of my development work on OS X and Linux, but for desktop environment, I would hands down use nothing else other than OS X. I just love the integration. Everything looks nice (yes I even like Yosemite), the system is very stable,

I remember just how buggy Yosemite was when DP 1 was released. But it's come a long way, the third GM candidate for Yosemite is really stable, maybe one of the most stable OS X .0 release. It even has less lag for animations like for M

Yeah I am actually. What does it matter when the data never leaves the device? And it's not like it's draining your battery either. M7/M8 are very low power.

Yeah, this isn't new. This is what the M7 (and the M8 inside iPhone 6) does. And more importantly, this data is never stored in the cloud and never leaves your device, according to Apple.
