Ahh my employer does this. The founding CEO had his desk over by the front door, and back in those days we all sat in the same big room. We have multiple big rooms now but the current CEO still has his desk out in the open. Last time I was

That's an unfortunate thing with how businesses operate. They shouldn't have to look like a fool in front of their board. Executives are not psychics. I get that their job is to foresee things like that, but sometimes you just.. c

Would I? The amiga setup sounds totally fine to me. Aside from old HVAC equipment potentially wasting a lot of energy, I see nothing wrong with using a 40 year old computer to control everything.

Hot damn this canonical dude is more full of shit than I ever possibly could have imagined lmao. I love Linux, I really do. I enjoy writing software for ig as a career choice. This has nothing to do with my love for Linux lol. But wow.

Then let the passenger do that shit on their own phone. Why do you need them entering stuff into the car's nav unit? That shit is distracting anyway. Don't half-ass shit. Besides, we all know you want to fucking watch TV while you

That's pretty funny because every time I've interacted with a stomach doctor, it pretty much went from introducing themselves to the patient (one time myself) to "let's get you scheduled for an EGD and/or a colonosc

About 1/3 of the comments in here are excitedly arguing exactly the opposite - that the brave souls holding the debt limit hostage every year are saving the country. Which of course is bull shit. But here we are.

Quick! We need to throw all the disabled people out on the street so we can make an excel spreadsheet look better!

Not really. However, as a long-time Mac and Apple fan, I can say the community has a lot of overly aggressive people who can't stand any criticism (valid or not) of Apple and will do various things in retaliation.

Definitely disagree. My own anecdotal evidence is that many many laptops left plugged in 24/7 will develop a spicy pillow after a year or two. That includes a set of Apple laptops and hundreds of Dell laptops.

Headless servers where you want a modular or easily removable battery backup. I really wish desktop PC power supplies would support such a thing. It seems stupid that we need to use a UPS with an inverter when the power supply should be rig

Those tractor wheelchairs are not a fits-all solution! For one, they're huge and heavy. For another, I would assume they won't work well on irregular stairways or antique stairways. Honestly, I'll make an insane hot take here

We shouldn't let perfect be the enemy of good. I'd rather see kids get free pizza and hot dogs for school lunch, than I would a system where it costs $8 per student and only some kids get free lunch, but it's 100% vegan fair
