This was such a good story that I read it aloud to a completely non-techie loved one, and we both got some joy from it. Thank for the Christmas gift, friend.

Because they applied electricity to a human covered in a flammable substance. They watched him pour it on himself. Even more fun. They did it to keep him from hurting himself. Gets better and better.

Go to your router's settings and create a separate wifi for just these work situations. Connect client hardware to that wifi only. This keeps them out of your LAN. If your router can't do this, get a better router.

If all else fails, consider spinning up a virtual machine just for that client, and do all work, install all required apps for that client inside that VM only. I am truly shocked at all the outrage posts with no mention of this.

When you do try bluetooth again, try full cans from a good brand. No earbuds at all. Check which codecs the cans will use. Just cans vs earbuds makes a hug sound and comfort difference. Literally, you get larger drivers and a larger battery

Because Apple's UI and "we will tell you what you want" attitude has always made my skin crawl. What kind of moron thinks detaching the menu for apps from the window for apps is a good UI design? And, because most of the soft

If you're in tech long enough, you can be traumatized by anything. Like the time a vendor-supplied system decided after an update that nothing could have a hyphen in the title, and a lot of existing content just... broke at once. Fun t

Well, if you put up an online exam that consists of only basic multiple choice tests, then you're making it a lot easier to cheat. That's the source of a lot of the trouble.

I'm in a very educated university town, and very few people wear masks here any longer in public.

In the USA at least, there is no legal expectation of privacy on a public street. So, for news reporting purposes, you can publish photos of a crowd in public. However, as soon as you step onto private property, this changes. Even at places

But their facial recognition is not opt-in. You cannot prevent other people from uploading photos of you then tagging your face in them, training Facebook's facial recognition to your face even if you consciously never upload your imag
