I suppose that you'll have to add something significant to whatever patents there are extant along the same lines. So, that means a patent search is a necessary step, to know what has already been filed similar to your concepts.

One point in creating AI that thinks the way humans do is to more fully understand what processes our own neural network operate, similar to how we understand our own language better by learning another tongue.
