Most PCs of that era had it as well. It still exists today at least for waking up from suspend. It's even exposed through WakeSystem=true in systemd timers.

Agreed. I don't see a way this can be done without one side trusting the other implicitly. If the sniffer/MitM gets either the measured data (to replay) or the unsealed key (to use directly) it's game over. > I don’t see h

Yeah, but it's enforced to run stock firmware in other ways. SafetyNet for once. Having mechanisms like this in place unfortunately makes it easier for others to abuse them for DRM.

I'd bet $10.50 that they don't care. Look what happened to Kuka.

Somehow my experience is the other way around: Arch updates more slowly but somehow still manages to be much less stable...

There are similar instructions on PowerPC (rlwinm) and bfi/ubfx instructions on ARMv8.

I wonder why they set the LSB to indicate an integer and clear it for other types. If they did it the other way, integer operations could be faster as the +1/-1 would not be necessary any longer.

Not necessary undesirable, but definitely surprising as it's a major change from the current behaviour.

Yeah, because it affects networking in the entire system. If some pam session module were to set up its own network namespace that is shared by all user processes after login, this could be (mostly) solved. The result would be some surprisi

Looks like another case of a vulnerability which was handled poorly by upstream: Bad/insufficient communication and multiple embargo violations. Ultimately this means there is no fix available yet and no ETA when there will be one.

This is only because MacBooks do not support MST. On all of my non MacBook laptops I can use multiple monitors over USB-C.

Only a few though. Support for the CPU, chipset components and GPU are contributed by the component vendors themselves. Other components use standard interfaces, like AHCI, XHCI, NVMe, HD audio, ... Not much remains up to the brands like Ac

If the new language would allow such a tool to work, it probably wouldn't be much better. It would either still have most of the awful behavior that the old language had or the converted scripts wouldn't be better than before. The

You forgot the </sarcasm> tag. Or are you actually serious with your comment? GCC supports various "flavors" of C, including fully standard compliant versions. GNU extensions are all documented.
