The biggest issue is it doesn't really have any mechanics beyond "catch pokemon". There's not really gameplay, short of the laughable gym battles. You can realize this after about a half hour of playing. Nintendo is sitt

Interesting possibilities- there's already examples of people having gyms on their houses and having people milling around their yards all day. There was also an "incident" where a koffing showed up at a holocaust museum- and

TBH 5$ is pretty fair pricing- average user is only going to buy one, maybe two NES ports, and serious retro buy-all-700 games people already have it all. It's only overpriced by maybe a dollar or two. But yeah, 60$ for the kit? Crike

It probably has to do with seed dropping patterns, and where light is. Fascinating stuff though.

You can see a pretty concrete example of this in forests, the trees are all densely packed, and random- and thus fall under hyperuniform. (as far as I can tell, anyway. Haven't exactly tested it, but it sure looks hyperuniform.) I'

Google apps are weird. I get the sneaking feeling they just make so much money they don't give a damn about usage, and just build the way they want to- which, apparently, leads to killing apps.

Fair points- I largely don't have an issue with single-window interfaces, (see discord) but it kinda sucks to have your nice, multiwindow taken away and replaced with something much, much worse.

That's because it is. Different acid concentrations, cell walls strengths, etc lead to some apples being better suited for some things than others. Kind of like fillet vs strip, it's all the same meat, but very different, and cook

It's still primarily a "gaming" voicechat/messaging system, but the software is all there, it just needs expansion. I'd be surprised if some sort of enterprise-grade discord didn't come about.

A big thing (for me anyway) is that the overall interface becomes smaller, and allows for greater customization. I can set it up exactly how I want, and at what size, without messing about. Sure, you can do that in a single-panel applicatio

You know what I want? I want the old linux client to work. It didn't have the stupid bubbly UI bloated with ads and "big, friendly buttons" it had functional utility, separate windows, and a much more pleasant user experience

If they're serving ads based on personal information, some people might have a little embarrassment heading their way. Jokes aside, we all knew this was coming, right? It's not like your telecom isn't serving you up to the NS

This is my little deal with the devil, I know that google has loads of my data, but I know they'll do something to keep it in house, instead of selling it off to whoever. It's more profitable for google not to sell your data becau

Not really though. You already could have a USB dac plugged into your phone- heck, I have one plugged in right now. It doesn't offer audiophiles anything, and gives the average "what's the difference between a 20$ dac and 100

Yeah, I suppose that's possible, but it doesn't make sense for the artists, the publishers, or the streaming service, who make money by having people listen to their songs.

That doesn't make sense. If you're recording off the 3.5mm jack, then you can record the output of the external dac just as well. Moving the dac out of the phone doesn't make piracy harder.

Seems like every time something becomes popular a chrome extension comes about to make it go away. Or something like cloud to butt. (which, imo, is never not funny.)

Of all the DRMS out there, steam has done the best job at preventing piracy. Why? Not because it's secure, steam drm is pretty easy to get around. But because it's just so gosh darned convenient to use, and has so many extra featu

The difference is, for some reason DF bugs are amusing as hell. It's pretty freaking funny to imagine a were-elephant in a tree yelling at everything. I think part of it is that DF doesn't really have graphics. You have to imagine

A pretty good example of this is the recent opening of Fallout 4 mods to Xbox users- almost overnight mod makers were spammed pretty much everywhere with demands to stick it on xbox, do this, do that, etc. Lots of bad blood.
