This is the right take. In my opinion, AI can’t ever be conscious but I can’t really prove it - moreover it’s not even a scientific stance because it’s not even falsifiable. But it probably doesn’t matter.

I'm no expert but at least in the initial stages of resuscitation, the cost is relatively low. Paramedics doing CPR, defibrillation, some epinephrine, then in the ER they'll intubate, get some lines in, push more epi and maybe ami

Anecdotally I worked in the emergency department and ICU for 2.5 years as a scribe and translator in undergrad (ending about 7 years ago) and never saw a single person successfully revived. In the sense that everybody who ever got revived t

The attitude in this article is suffocating. I’m 40, healthy, and picked up cheap generic Cialis for the hell of it with no shame, no crisis. It flipped my sex life on its head, instantly. The real scandal is how cheap, safe, and transforma

I had the same exact issues on generic Vyvanse, which also causes me intense palpitations compared to the brand-name, I legit thought I was going to have a heart attack several times a day. So much so, that I quit it altogether—I couldn’t s

Here I am losing my mind. My phone’s set to Portuguese (EU), I live in the US, and somehow I get ads in German and Spanish, and news exclusively for Portugal. No ties to Germany at all. Just lost in some algorithm’s fever dream.

I’ll go you one further — it seems like every time some prescient comment about the economy gets extremely upvoted, the economy does the literal opposite thing.

Niche content for sure is the best thing Reddit is for. I only go there for info on my favorite instruments, and a few other shitposting communities for games and shows I watch.

This is wild. It took me ~20 years as an adult to get diagnosed because I couldn’t get my shit together to keep going back to neuro-psychiatrists to progress through the testing pipeline.

I hate to sound elitist, but I straight-up can’t do any serious coding on anything other than a Linux box. Most of what I do these days is statistical inference on bacterial genomes in the context of antibiotic treatment. I understand that

This is my exact issue. ChatGPT seems formulaic in part, because so much of the work it’s trained on is also formulaic or at least predictable.

Does anyone involved with MediaWiki here know how this could affect CirrusSearch? Once ES became non-OS it kinda went to hell. https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:CirrusSearch

Somewhat speculative of course—the extant megafauna you’re referring to are somewhat endangered and but also don’t represent great sources of usable materials such as meat or skins. Additionally, many are quite dangerous — rhinos, hippos, a
