Wow, in the course of this HN thread I went from learning about Caddy, to deciding against using it. Definitely not cool to immediately threaten legal action almost instantly after forking. Definitely not cool to force a header. I'll b

Totally. I bought my license in 2013 and just realized that I didn't even have to pay the 3.0 license upgrade fee! I have used Sublime daily for almost 5 years now and I almost feel guilty for paying so little. I'd be more than ha

I'm the same way, no reason to trust that any of their new products will stick around. I only use their most common products: Calendar, Mail, Maps, and Search. I don't want to have to invest in migrating platforms every year or tw

Surprisingly Tru64 only reached end-of-life in December of 2012, with the last release happening in 2010. Depressingly, some of the modern software I write at work is required to be compatible with Tru64 5.0 as some of our customers are sti

Agreed, we were stuck using Oracle at my job and it's an pain to maintain. Their cloud solutions are awful and on-premises suffered greatly. Their database engine might be solid, but everything around it was terrible. Things like PL&#x

Using BDXL seems like a pretty good solution. Most of this data is archival and existing data is very unlikely to change. You can use HDD/SSD as a buffer as users upload data, and then optimize the packing to ensure you're using a

For me, I frequently use multiple ports and the reduction to 2 USB ports for the non-touch MBP2016 isn't ideal. Also, the non-touch version still comes with all the associated negatives (still 16GB memory limit, everything still solder
