I'm so sick of these profound-sounding blog posts that take 1 million words to say precisely jack shit. Yes, the key innovation around Bitcoin was to order events. You can call this 'time' if you want. This is literally the m

Posts like this just make me realize how impossible it is to follow every security best practice and stay one step ahead of the latest techniques. You can maybe try tick the most common boxes, but expecting users to be able to police their

OP asserts that we have no right to complain because other people have it worse... This is a logic fallacy known as the 'fallacy of relative privation.' It's faulty reasoning because its an infinite race to the bottom. Noooo:

This is similar to Stackoverflow's 'Technologies I don't like' resume section. Every time I encounter something truly horrible I add it there. I also add tech to filter out roles I'd rather not get tricked into doin

Can you imagine the insane accommodation big tech companies would design to attract top talent though? It might help counteract some of the crappiness of relocation when everything seems to be going remote. I mean an entire town is a massiv

Wow, this looks bad. Many VPS and shared hosting providers would be directly shellable with this. Even exploits that got you onto a web server with a limited web shell = full root. Alternatively, sites that already have shells from previous

I really do hate Wikipedia and almost never use it. It's a collection of poorly spun word-salad stolen loosely from third-parties. And the aim isn't on quality but to satisfy the editors compulsive need to contribute to Wikipedia&

It's become a web trend to waste 60% of the screen by making ultra-thin, column sites with microscopic text. I don't know why. Apparently having a site 'look good' trumps being able to read it? I was curious what the fon

I've seen the goto error-handling approach used now in SDKs written by developers from companies like Microsoft, Nvidia, and Nordic Semiconductor. It really does seem to be the best way to do it. And it's simple. Mess something up

If Googler's did manage to unionize what would be some of the biggest changes that would happen at Google as a result? I'm an outsider so I don't have much of a picture into how employees feel about Google. But I am curious

It seems like you could easily build a fintech app that gives you a virtual pre-paid credit card to use with these services and gets funded only up until your budget amount. That might be a safer way to work with services like this. Could
