While it's fine for Afghanistan it was designed for a cold-war tank battle. If you don't need to kill tanks or dodge air defences a propeller-powered plane that looks like something out of WW2 is a lot cheaper... and that's w

For a novice coder I couldn't recommend Head First Design Patterns enough - the gang of four design patterns are a bit controversial these days but the way it steps you through and makes you think twice about how to organise things was

Me neither! I can still remember the layout of that level where you only have two lemmings and you have to save both of them but need to use at least one as a blocker. I could never figure it out and didn't have the internet to look it

It's an interesting contrast to OSX, which most people I know use by keeping a stack of odd-sized windows on screen such that at least a bit of each is always visible.

With XP this was valid, but from Windows 7 onwards you don't need to do it anymore unless you actually want to play a game - the majority of users would never need to at all.

They do mention density in terms of kw / sqm as being slightly higher than conventional turbines, but don't give a lot of details beyond that. I can only hope it's not based on parking them all right next to each other and ho

Yeah I imagine there's quite a few that'll feel that way, but at least given that using JSX requires a transform anyway it doesn't make a build _that_ much more complex than it already is.

I have a 2012 XPS 13. After a year there was only one working USB port remaining and the DVD drive was broken. I have no idea why people are gushing over Dell, every one I've had has been cheap rubbish.

Unfortunately a very small proportion of potential customers are going to hear or care about this... it's about as toxic to their business as stepping in some stinging nettles is toxic to me.
