It's that whole thing of reacting with great sadness to hearing of one person's death and being numb to hearing of a plane crash (I'm mangling the saying). If we stopped to think about all the individual tragedies that go on

What even does the idea of a decentralized social network look like? Every social web I imagine branches out from me (if I am the user in question) and then goes out to gather information from there. So on and so forth. Unless I'm thin

I'm a little split on this one. I'm at Disneyland reading this, and (for some places) they do a decent job of it, having a QR code on the outside so you can look at the menu while you queue or wait for your reservation (sometimes

This is actually a really nice write up for people deciding which language to learn/use if they aren't constrained.

Not to hop on the train of criticism, but there are plenty of other ways to invest yourself in your career other than being a social butterfly around the coffee pot. Admittedly I'm a bit socially awkward and fully aware of my flaws, bu

Sometimes you have to make airplane noises to make a baby eat its food in the same way you have to convince the broader public that money isn't the only thing that is important in life. Family, friends, art, nature and philosophy are m

Don't get me wrong, I'm no Trumper, and don't think we should leave NATO. But the US military expansionist policy is tiresome for the US as well as for the European population who complain about it. There are a vocal minority

The US could easily take much of that military funding and put it into infrastructure, job programs and healthcare spending and allow European countries to increase their military spending. This would keep our GDP and reduce our deficit wit
