I wish more people would be this open: "As one of the main authors of Chaplin, I may be biased. But I do see weaknesses and room for improvement." instead of the bashing that we see in many comparisons.

My point was not that I do not watch US produced TV shows (though I only watch TV on Sunday) but that it is not highly likely that I watch some of the shows with "fuck" in them, because I mostly watch UK shows which makes it highly unlikely

From first hand experience. Then lately there was a discussion on /r/seo I currently can't find with a link to Matt Cutts who said redirects are handled the way links transfer juice. [edit] People extrapolate that 301 are different because

In most countries you can say what you like if no one can listen to it (imagine a desert or the largeness of the taiga). If the commercial enterprise is the only way that people can hear you, and those oligopolies censor you with a peep o

"if women are looking to hold the same morally bankrupt positions of power that men have" This is pure sexism and stereotyping men.

My problem with HTTPS is Google: They push it on every front, but - for various reasons - consider HTTPS and HTTP different pages, meaning you do not get link juice from any HTTP links if you're site is HTTPS only. (1. don't listen to peopl

Very interesting - again. What I - again - find most interesting, is the large discrepancy in the 20-query test. Common wisdom seems to be that language performance is not important b/c every language hangs in the same IO/DB.

From my recruiting experience and from asking around others who do programming during recruiting, there are 30% programmers that can't program even simple problems (FizzBuzz, String reverse)

What I forgot to ask: What is your policy if you fail your guarantee? Do you reimburse customers with the resulted damage? Do you have a fixed amount of money you pay?

For 99,9% (around 45min downtime) per month $50 is cheap, what I have seen over the years from hosters with Cisco firmware problems, BGP problems, power failures, hurricanes etc. and many more and recovery times of 30min++.

I don't think the author gets declarative right. It feels like he bolts a cool word onto some things he uses. Call me old fashioned, but I think Prolog is declarative, map() and reduce() are not.
