People that don't want "filtering", also want their search results in German, Chinese or Japanese? Or is "filtering" on language ok?

What does faithful mean? You want German or Chinese results? You want global or local results (in your language of choice). There is always personalization in search.

Although it might be considered "Pro"-European, I think http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_European_Dream is a good book on the topic of US and European differences.

Our Tomcats definetly didn't check for file handles, or run out of the box. The same goes for our NGINX. Can't talk about PostgreSQL, but MySQL certainly isn't delivered in a high volume configuration either.

"That doesn't make any sense. Anything that can run node.js can also run erlang, so let's use some erlang code inside node.js, right?" Sounds right from a Turing perspective, but probably not from a pratical point of view. There are tons of

People need to read Zed Shaws "poll, epoll, science, and superpoll" on this, and no longer repeat the "scale well" mantra. "Another way to put this is if your server or protocol is the type that transmits a ton of data and can't tolerate id

The site is back. The linked article does not present any facts about "The rise of Erlang". So I stand by my -3 downvoted comment above.

I'm not sure there is a rise of Erlang. Not even sure there is a rise in Erlang concepts. Disclaimer: I didn't read the article as the site is down for me - probably not written in Erlang. And I'm an Akka user.
