Large companies force devs to go through ops for so many things. There isn't much of a choice.

Yes, I'm very good at domain driven design. Nothing about DDD aggregates solves the problem of batch processing using a synchronous API.

Don't think it conflicts that much with TDD. The test is the problem statement, or maybe a theorem. You then need to figure out how to solve/prove it. You can do this on paper then type it in or directly. It doesn't really ma

It's not ideal. I would push back if I could. But you could create a job style api, where they submit a batch, and you return a id back. Then they check the status of the batch by a get on the job id.

That has nothing to do with this?

This assumes that a decent market is the status quo. It isn't. The price should approach the marginal cost in a real competitive market.

It seems like the original was a silly way of doing it in the first place.

Yes. A large 4 TB oltp database as a document store. As long you have a good partitioning strategy seems work without much effort put into it.

I don't think most sciences use "formal" proof. Maths & Computer science do.

Not essential for large chunks of business software. But math can open up lots of new domains for programming, and extend your abilities. I'd argue you're pretty limited to boring software without it.

Depends what you mean by smart? A lot of smart people enjoy technical & mathematical problems as opposed to business, hustling and risk taking. So they are probably on the career track at large tech and finance companies. It allows you

I feel like the entirety of maths could do a bit of more a top down approach in terms of teaching. At the moment it's a bit like studying only grammar, and spelling without reading a good novel for inspiration.

I mean you can have worse quality if you want. But won't have the effect you want. Aka speed. In fact the opposite is most likely to happen.

That's the point. Most people want adult education so they have comfortable lives. Learning about history is a luxury pursuit really for people who are already comfortable and have spare time. So you really need education that leads to

Yes, because tons of people have the capital to open business and hire employees. Reality is most people wanting to retrain are going to do it as a single person business as a plumber, hair dresser or similar.
