Having been through multiple month long planning "phases", that were eventually shown to be wildly inaccurate I disagree. This is exactly what we used to do in the waterfall days. It didn't work. The only way that's been

I wouldn't be surprised that the first thing they do is open source it. Removing the advantage of its competitors.

But the point is that auditors didn't catch massive amounts of fraud either. Where financial statements did not match reality at all.

I wouldn't class user story mapping as formal requirements analysis. Writing code, getting feedback and then adjusting is a process in itself. It's an ooda loop. Probably the most powerful process. A lot of process distracts from

Secruirity as formal requirements analysis is often awful anyway. Often just a checkbox exercise. It won't having good engineers who understand secrurity. Who emdedd it in everything they do. Yes it is agile. This is what exactly what

I think creating an example API, going back to your customers, asking customers for feedback rinse and repeat is far better than a formal requirements analysis phase. The best documention from a Devs perspective are interactive sandboxes wi

Normally the software in the repos with centos is a lot older. So you can't use the latest Dev tools for example without compiling and installing yourself.

I thought we got past the idea that a unit is a method or class. The original interpretation means a unit of behaviour. When you start thinking like that, intergration tests become less important. But still important. The idea that a unit i

Yeah, it's hard enough to find quality Devs as it is. When your entire business is about high quality Dev review your going to need a lot of them.

The thing is developers as a whole like writing good code. Code quality is often the result of how much the business values good code. If they don't they will simply want everything done the fasted with no time for refactoring. That so

The fact that a newcomer has difficulty reading the code implies it's bad. Not simply a lack of understanding. Good code should be easy to pickup even for newcomers. Now there maybe reasons why it's bad, time constraints, no time
