Most of these issues are something that EVERY engineer has issues with. Male and female. I don't think a lot of these are female specific.

I think it needed to be done. There is a lot of stuff .net framework that doesn't really make sense anymore.

There's a reason nearly every actually used programming language parser is hand rolled. It's easier for adding errors messages, debugging and diagnostics tools. I know modern parser generators can do this as well. It's just

There are tons of parser generators, but I find the code they generate unreadable and terrible for error reporting.

A good grasp on first and follows sets is essential if you are building a bottom up parser. Not so much for recursive descent.

Honestly, I would not say the EU is good at corporate oversight. They refuse have their accounts audited, tons of other stuff normally considered good governance.

For the parser itself, yes. There are parser generators that take a spec(BNF, PEG) and output a parser that can parse the language. What you do with the parsed tree is up you though.

Lots of systems separate commands and queries. Commands would be difficult to test without some mocking.

Nobody denies integration tests are good. You just don't want your unit tests to be integration tests. Unit tests are meant to be fast, and quick to isolate the failing code.

Yes, but you keep them separate from unit tests. Unit tests should be fast to run, for quick feedback.

Reading the sources and trying to understand it takes a lot longer than looking at bnf and cranking out recursive descent parser based on it or a parser generator.

I really wish their was concise formal spec for markdown, rather than a multi-page essay. It makes it incredibly difficult for anyone trying to create something to parse it. There is no mechanical way for go from spec -> parser. I think

Event Sourcing + CQRS is an extremely scalable, and flexible system, but at the same time it can overcomplicate things. I'm not sure it was required here. Interesting to see it used outside the .Net world.

"Consider letting off-time be off-time and getting yourself a better job :)" - Those two conflict. Most jobs want the next buzzwords in the job description, which you aren't learning in the current job.
