This happens with video games too. Players hate restrictions, but if they were removed, would get board and stop. For a recent example, look at Valheim. They explicitly block you from using portals to move metal ore, which forces you to u

I also think that it's a shame he didn't bring up NumPy & Pandas, or R. He's just created a data frame and then complained that there's no functions to sort it, but we do have those. They are here. ants = pd.

Sure, traits talk about functions, not properties/ strict fields, so you need to provide trivial getters if you want to abstract over properties. True, but not that interesting? Sure we could have some Ruby :get_attrs magic or whatever

I agree somewhat, in Haskell you can write generic functions without traits, and I think they are not monomorphized. (map for example.) However, I think these all operate on boxed objects, which is a little bit easier to do than for Rust,

Honesty if you make a good case for it being more effective, go for it. I'm happy that someone has done the research on if I want to donate, where does it do the most good however.

Sure. So it's possible to focus on getting rich and then never give back. There's a solution to that, which is continuing to give a percentage of your income. Some people are quite charitable and give 10%. I'm a little mor

Goto based algorithms generally outperform looped algorithms. (They're just more general, you can always implement a loop based algorithm using gotos, but not the other way around)
