This is why, back when I owned a Jeep, I never locked it. Figured if someone wanted the 85 cents in change that badly I'd rather they not take a knife to my (plastic) windows.

Utterly losing the plot while playing dumb word games is so typical Stallman.

That seems like an implied constraint? You don't run polls asking if the sky is blue.

I am and it sucks. Very limiting socially. I can’t even reliably differentiate my parents from similar looking people beyond 10ft or so. For most people the only thing I can really use are things like distinctive hair or tattoos. Context is

Most questions you could guess a number somewhere vaguely near 50% and be right a substantial amount of the time given such massive error bars.

"€20/month from Hetzner" is great until you actually need it to be up and working when you need it.

Probably closer to a rent-a-car lot. Most GA pilots rent, they don't own. Owning only (kinda) makes sense if you fly A TON. Otherwise all the timed maintenance eats you alive. On a plane you have lots of "every N months" work

Don't need an airport for that. Any busy city sidewalk would do just fine.

This is rather hysterical. "Alarm bells" - both metaphorical and physical - would absolutely be going off if a Cessna was not responding on radio and headed anywhere near an airport operating passenger jets. Corona Muni isn't

Tells you how hard advertising collapsed in the same time period. I was at a small chain of local papers from about '09-'13. I saw it first hand. Classifieds used to be a cash cow... not EASY money nessesairly, it's made $20

None of those I would really class as "fancy". Good ink, yes. Fancy, no. They're not (except maybe Diamine occasionally) making shimmer inks, or glitter inks, or color shift inks, or ... I'm talking mostly about small bo

Your GP said, and I quote, "The secret sauce of Lamy and Faber Castell is, their lower and higher end pens use the same feeds and nibs". That is plainly incorrect.

That isn’t true at all. The nib in my Lamy 2000 is nothing at all like the nib on one of the mass market pens.

I think this kinda misses the point of what lost modern pen enthusiasts are looking for. For one thing, limiting yourself to pre-filled cartridges locks you out of 95%+ of the fancy ink out there, which is sold bottled for use with internal

Despite the common vernacular calling them "waves" they're really more like really really high tides. You're talking about something that happens over, say, 10-90 minutes, not seconds.

There's actually a self-report line (run by NASA, no less) where pilots can report stuff like this. It's really quite brilliant. The way that you get pilots to do it is that if you drop the dime on yourself it actually gives you v

A confounding factor here is that when a shiny new "safer airplane" is on the market you know who it attracts? The least safe pilots. All the doctors and dentists bought Cirruses. Risk compensation is real... they put themselves i
