When (not if) we set foot on Mars, the achievement will be one of humanity. Private company, government, US, China, it doesn't matter. We'll be on Mars, a multi-planetary race. How the accomplishment was funded and by who will not matter (t

Dropbox isn't "entertainment/trivial" stuff for many people. Some depend on it heavily.

$200 Nexus 7 has 8Gb storage, iPad mini base model has 16Gb. I still think $330 is a little high though.

I haven't really had any problems with my Magsafe 2 connector. I was upgrading from an older Macbook that used the older T-shaped Magsafe, I never owned any of the L shaped ones.

Change the game design slightly? He claims he wants to walk and jump at the same time, maybe adjust the control scheme to make jumping triggered in a different way. This bug, in particular is not a an easy thing to work around, I agree and

That makes sense to me, as I read the article it sounded like he was saying that outside iOS he was locked in to Flash in the same way as he is locked in to HTML5 on iOS. The iOS restriction is very real and enforced, there is nothing forci

FTA: "On the iPhone, you're as locked in with HTML5 as you were with Flash everywhere else before" In what way has Flash ever been the only way to display web content? This statement is absurd.

So he let this bug sit in his game for two years without thinking of a work around himself? The situation where any platform owner has a bug that impacts your software you should try as best you can to work around it because you never know

Microsoft charges OEM's a significant amount of money to use Windows on their hardware, Google gives Android away for free. So, the Surface is able to undercut the OEM's on price significantly.

Lunch is my quiet time, I don't want to talk work all day long. I may still think about it, or even be working while I eat but I don't need a forced one hour meeting every day to be good at my job.

yeah, the jam build system is a great tool and has been around a long time. Seems like people should do some more research before naming their projects.

They say people work on what they want but they still advertise for specific jobs ( https://github.com/about/jobs ), so surely there is some level of direction there. i.e. If you're hired as a Data Miner then you are expected to spend your

Yeah, Dan seems like the kind of nice guy you just cant help but like. Seems to me like he's been stabbed in the back on this one. Shame on Gruber.

That's the big difference I see between Dan Benjamin and Mike Monteiro. Dan is a professional and has my respect, where as Monteiro makes cheap vulgar jokes. I know which attitude I prefer to support.

Hypercritical is by far my favorite podcast, it took the top spot on my playlists from the Talk Show a long time ago. I get the impression Siracusa does that podcast for fun, not profit and would never ditch Dan like Gruber has.

I was expecting a book on learning Go, the game. I was disappointed. I hate it when people name new things with a name that obviously conflicts with something else that's likely to be known and discussed in the same community.
