Try these options: 1. Go with SVG and WebSockets. or 2. Go with pure HTML,Javascript and CSS with transformations. I am working right now on a game based on SVG and couldn't be happier. Works flawlessly on FX, WK & OP. One last advice,

Two things: First, I don't like URL shorteners for this same reason. Every web server should be in charge of managing long and short urls easily with just one line of code. Second, how expensive it is to keep the site running? $10 a month f

"That makes it great for stuff like configuration files" Nothing beats YAML for configuration files. For everything else, use JSON.

Everytime hurricane season comes, they start their red alert propaganda on the news alarming people about how the oil supply from the gulf will be reduced therefore oil prices will go up. After hurricane season, prices should go down, but n

Wake me up when they implement SVG and canvas. No, they don't care about HTML5 no matter how they spin it.

If you vote yes, you vote for not not returning? Or is it yes to not returning? Negative polls suck. I say we should have bases on the moon the same as we have bases on antarctica.

Then make it the default for next version, just redesign it to be part of the layout with huge buttons instead of just a toolbar dragged to the side.

Idea: Use two sidebars, one fixed to the left for formatting (never change its buttons so users don't get lost), one to the right that changes based on probable actions like working with tables as soon as you enter a table, or image manipul

Oh gawd, I've never taken a peek under the hood of HN but all these font tags almost made me slash my wrists in despair. Time to run a "Redesign HN in HTML5" contest, Reward: a standing ovation, and an iPhone.

Lack of CSS understanding. No excuse. Once you know your tools you can do wonders you'll be amazed at how easy it was. I bet a hundred CSS experts here can give you some interesting ways on redesigning comments. Show us your best.

SVG is one of the most interesting web technologies right now, even better than canvas. But there are strong forces opposing it like M$ and adobe that will never allow it to gain traction. All major browsers support SVG except IE. And they

From my dictionary: Startup: any business during the first year. Not during planning, web design, hiring, marketing or any other phase. Once you hang that "We're open" sign on your door you're a startup for the next year. From a lemonade st

Yes, it is fair. The world has changed a lot and nowadays if you have a patent worthwile funds will flood your bank account to bring it to reality in no time. The rest is bureaucracy or just plain bad intention.

In the tech woeld, patents should last just one year. Enough time to build and market your product and have the advantage of being first. After that is open season for everybody to improve upon that patent, everybody wins.
