That would be wonderful, unfortunately the storage density of tape is dependent also on the magnetic particle in the tape; smaller particles which can be magnetised enable smaller heads, which in turn enable higher storage density. I know y

I do wonder why they've not chosen to make progress in that regard to advancing the state of the system. Surely these are known good ideas that would improve the customer experience and the system from a technical level. I only speak a

Anecdotally, I use a Caldigit - but I get frequent AMD GPU driver kernel panics when I plug my laptops in, I see it on two separate 16" machines (work and personal). I suspect that it's the monitors at fault. Less common but no le

Even better - in BASH and ZSH you can open up your preferred editor and compose a long command in that with "^x e" (or CTRL-x, e) - saving and closing will print the contents into your prompt, ready to be executed with an enter.

Proposing either of those two as a lingua franca (irony aside), would be a sure fire way to start an enormous argument in the EU. Surprisingly with the UK out of the EU; English is perhaps best placed to fill this role, as it is now a "

I used to work for a hosting firm who had large numbers of customers making use of CentOS for their pre-production environments, running RHEL for their production. This announcement is a kick in the teeth to those customers, as the transiti

This makes me profoundly sad; such an iconic structure built for the betterment of all of us, allowed to decay, rot, and collapse. Even if it was past it's point of utility the structure itself was a modern icon of design. To be hyperb

Equal Weight index from what I've just read about it apparently treats each company in the index equally - as in 1/500th of the total index's value. What I was more thinking of is that the S&P 500 is top heavy with Big Te
