I use Jellyfin in this way. You can also use it with music apps like Symfonium for Android, and you can play on a Sonos via DLNA.

Love this. So many in the archivist community are only interested in preservation and don't care at all about making the material accessible. Love to see a project like this prioritizing the latter.

No sorry, I meant which NAS are people using to run music servers like Blackcandy. I used to run a FreeNAS but need to upgrade badly.

What do people use for a NAS nowadays?

I'm still mad that they killed Rdio because Spotify was "free". Will never use it.

Requiring they pay the for-profit company to access non-profit resources seems problematic.

It's not a negative that SerenityOS no longer has a web browser?

Yes, there's a huge difference between Linux and BSDs.

Except missing the pesky runtime implementation. We don't need though, right? As long as the types say it's right.

Rare things still happen a lot at the scale of npm. And due to transitive dependencies it winds up affecting a lot of actual users. And this is just one example of an incompatibility, there are many more. Bun didn't discover a silver b

No, it's a problem because the formats are fundamentally incompatible and it's impossible to infer the author's intent. A package with no imports/exports or requires could be either ESM or CJS and no heuristic can solve

This problem is very old at this point. I'm doubtful that Bun has "solved it" any more than other tools. They've just selected a different set of trade-offs that will result in a different set of packages not working. Is

I'm not sure that's really true. I remember looking at pages of search results on Star Wars websites. All built from scratch, none of them had ads. All of them much better than for ex. Wookieepedia despite having less content. I t

It's ok that some content not be on the internet. The internet didn't have to become the epicenter of everything. Amateur content and communication was a fine outcome for what the internet could have been. Scholarly material could

Regardless of who likes the idea, nostr becoming successful would do nothing to boost cryptocurrency.

Nostr is not crypto. It doesn't use crypto or blockchains in any way. Crypto is the reward for the bounty.

I don't know what you are referring to, but there's nothing magical about nostr here. You're identity is a public key. It's not tied to a particular server. So if a server boots you off you can continue publishing on oth

Nostr is not crypto. The bounty is, but the tech is not.

Nostr is not Blockchain. The tech is unrelated. It's just a simple protocol of message types and relays that store messages. A lot of blockchain fanatics like nostr but the tech itself doesn't use it.

Those kinds of features are wonderful and all and they don't add much complexity to having them in your language. The thing that makes languages more or less simple (and more or less complex) is the number and degree of abstractions th
