Reading that it really feels like he only posed the question for discussion so that he can say that he got input. It doesn't seem like the feedback is going to sway him an inch.

I sort of agree with this post but not for the reasons given. That developer doesn't want a negative video posted to his forum is not a big problem to me. The reason I left Caddy was that it just didn't feel that stable to me. By

Yarn feels more stable to me. I don't know how many breaking changes they've made but it sure feels like fewer (the version 1.x shows that). Also, I think npm released it's lockfile too quickly. It didn't work for quite

Yeah, sorry but I don't buy that. webpack outputs JavaScript bundles, not a dependency graph. Importing PNGs into JavaScript is only useful if you use a JavaScript AST to then do something with those imports.

And then you wind up spending multiple days trying to figure out how to do something that doesn't quite fit in with what other people have already done. How many times do we have to learn the same lessons over and over? Small tools tha

No, I get what is trying to be achieved, I am just questioning why it is being done this way and not something much simpler... I would much prefer that my JavaScript bundler only bundles JavaScript. Converting a PNG into a JavaScript module

Why do people import PNGs into their JavaScript? That seems pretty weird... Not a criticism of this tool, which seems quite nice.

I don't read binaries so I don't particularly care how hackish the solution is as long as it works. There are benefits to wasm of course, but running C code in the browser isn't one of them.

They could do those things, but like every other company in this space they have concluded that advertising is the most profitable option for them.

Nope, that would violate the agreement made between you and your bank.

What exactly is the problem here? Why shouldn't the CEO of a company have special capabilities? He owns it after all. You'll be outraged to learn restaurant owners often make things for themselves that's not on the menu.

Right, Subscriptions only has, IIRC, per-tier type of pricing. I need per-usage for my product, and was doing manual Stripe payments. But that meant if I wanted to change the pricing I would need to keep track of what customer was at what p

I don't know how you could be so certain of what the price of a single episode should be. There's so many factors outside of what Apple chooses to price them at. It might even be possible that Apple has no say in how it prices

It's hard to say without knowing the terms of the agreement between Netflix and Apple. If I were Netflix I wouldn't allow them to sell it for cheaper than me.

I'm not sure why you're surprised that Apple can't beat Netflix pricing on Netflix's own content... But yeah, a-la-carte is always more expensive than bundles. That's true of episodes, or channels, or whatever else.

Instead you'd pay for/subsidize shows you don't need... The only true a a-la-carte model is to pay for episodes individually. Which you can do on Apple TV / Amazon.

Moving files around is not something you do all that often. Doing so will present a problem in most any programming language.

Most of the discussion surrounding H2 PUSH is concentrated on the single use case of static assets. It's true that this one is difficult, but there are other use cases. For example, say you had a chart on your page that is generated wi

There are other office occupants though, and it sounds like Google's going to squeeze them out. So the food offerings might stay, but it's going to begin to feel like a Google cafeteria.

Can you explain to me then how Elixir is more experimental than Go was when it was deployed in its early days?

It's FUD aimed at a particular language, though. If you know anyone inside Google you probably know how regularly people "experiment" without pushback; all of the internal Dart projects, for example.

You should let Ericsson know the language that powers their telecom systems is an experiment.
