Toby Ord's book The Precipice does a good job evaluating them. Top contenders are AI, bioengineered viruses, nuclear war, and climate change, with natural disasters that we fail to avert/mitigate, like asteroid impact or supervolc

Conveniently, BepiColumbo is already scheduled to do a flyby next month for a gravity assist en route to Mercury, with some brief atmospheric science while there. Probably impossible to alter the trajectories at this point, but it sure woul

They used two different observatories (James Clerk Maxwell Telescope and the Atacama Large Millimeter Array) to confirm the signal. The chances of both being wrong in the exact same way is very low.

That sounds awful - glad I've never encountered it. FYI, you can use a lot of the built-in window management functions via keyboard shortcuts - Windows key + Shift + [Left|Right] arrow key moves a window between monitors.

It doesn't need to be one or the other. The quiz could be optional, and answering correctly would simply give your comments a rating boost - or inversely, you could put a badge of shame on any comments from people who hadn't passe

Unity is not really made in Unity - the core engine is in C++ that is separate from the userland C# scripts. However, it uses the same UI library that's available to users (IMGUI, and being upgraded to UIToolkit), which makes it easy t

I've made a node-editor based UI heavy application for real-time texture synthesis in Unity[0], for which it is quite good. Although I agree that it doesn't integrate platform native UI patterns well. [0]: https://www.y

Unity just bought Bolt, so Bolt visual scripting is included in all Unity licenses for free, now. There's also the vfx graph and the shader graph node editors.

Looks like a 16' radius 4v conduit dome, pretty standard as that size is the most material efficient when using 10' stock. They cost around two thousand USD in materials (depending on the price of steel).

Unity does sort of do it, but even then, the result is not the same as compiling on OSX - in particular, I've noticed differences in the shaders emitted, around HDR/bloom.
