Iraq is definitely a sink hole. But the War in Afghanistan has cost $370 billion which is $200 billion less than Korea (in inflation adjusted dollars). http://costofwar.com/en/ http://historical.whatitcosts.com/facts-korean-war.htm

The U.S. was only in WWII from 41-45. It was only in WWI from 1917-1918. Also saying "The war on terror" is kind of misleading since troop levels have varied greatly. To give one example the initial Afghan offensive only involved about 1,

The article’s interesting but it didn’t really answer the question I wanted answered which is “who is actually making more money?” Netflix is at the forefront of on-demand visual media and we all know how that story is going to end. I don’

Do you know that people are making money off Facebook ads for a fact? I'm not necessarily agreeing with the author as much as I'm trying to point out the fallacy of believing every ad platform is effective. Your argument seems to be "if th

Well it isn't a "false" argument it's an argument you disagree with. But your circumstantial evidence (that you click on ads) is no more or less compelling than his circumstantial evidence ("that he doesn't"). The question boils down to w

Actually the author's contention, true or not, is that Facebook will never be able to improve their platform because people don't go to Facebook looking for information they go there to interact with their friends. So Facebook ads will alw

I think you missed his point (though I can't really blame you because he has a peculiar writing style). The way I read it he has two basic points. 1. Facebook ads are different than Google ads (or other web site ads) because you go to Face

Two thoughts popped into my head after reading this. 1. Beautiful people tend to have more confidence. If you recall from grade school there's an old rule about multiple choice tests which says "if you don't know for sure go with your fir

Do you have a reason for doubting that? Steve Jobs has been an amazing leader for Apple but he's not an engineer. For example the iPod and iTunes came from external companies (PortalPlayer and SoundJam respectively). I suspect Jobs' influ

I can't retype the whole thing here so I'm just going to give you a link to a post I made which makes the argument that Steve Jobs does enjoy it too much and that's exactly why he won't be back. See here: http://tomstechblog.com/post/Ie28

If they were to force H.264 out they'd clearly have to make an exception for devices that were not capable of playing WebM. To think otherwise would be idiotic (and is an obnoxious straw man argument on your part). But that's not hard to

If Google really wants to force WebM adoption they need to go "all-in". Set a deadline for pulling all h.264 videos from YouTube and force Apple and Microsoft to support the WebM standard. I know that sounds worse than what they're doing b
