Google Lighthouse do use the standards that we have to follow as a baseline though, which makes the suggestions bear weight. More concretely, WCAG 2.0 [1] requires a contrast for 4.5:1 for text, and hacker news with it's #F6F6EF backgr

I think the big issue is that not every email client reacts harshly enough to emails with either no DKIM header or mismatching DKIM signature. Today it's basically just one of several factors for marking a email as spam, when in realit

I was so sure it was haveibeenpwned.com that showed the password as well, but alas they do not, at least not for the last two years. The way I use to recognize which service has been compromised is using unique email addresses. Most provide

That really sucks, maybe now is a good time to look into infrastructure as code? I believe Terraform has a provider for namecheap, so that if this ever happens again, you're able to restore within minutes

Yes, this! Not having a clearly recommended approach to development against k8 clusters is a huge barrier to entry! I was really hyped about Azure Dev Spaces ( https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/dev-spaces/

One issue is the stability of The Cloud of your choice, but in reality, few apps are truly multi-cloud and ready to loose a region. Really makes you think that with all these big players pushing chaos engineering and multi-cloud deployments

We've seen plenty of people going all in building their business on a platform they don't control, then getting mad when the platform they depend on changes how things work. With that said, are you guys also targeting other platfo

I think the fear of changing infrastructure code is usually not rooted in bad practices, but rather immature tools and practices. Speaking from experience, it's really hard to get infrastructure as code deployments as bulletproof as ap

Heh, I think we're talking about different scenarios. In the case of event sourcing, we often set the retention period to 'forever', because the events in Kafka are our source of truth. Then we just build a materialising laye

(assuming you meant to write Kafka) Being able to notify every internal service to delete a user's data is always nice, but in the case of event sourcing, the events are the data. Yet you can't delete Kafka events (not sure about

Many interpretations of light weight though, I would say GitLab is light weight in the sense that it's really easy to get going and define jobs. If you wanna interpret it as a light weight install procedure, then I guess no. Depends on

By having a good partitioning strategy, where you partition based on unique keys like usernames, you can very easily scale horizontally, because each consumer only consumes one partition. And it's still sequential for events that has t
