There's a lot of assumptions in that question: 1. that programmers are paid less than business analysts and project managers, and 2. that "programming is much more difficult than creating documentation or even creating Gantt chart and askin

That was my first thought as well. Though I remembered that my MacBook came with a pack of games and OmniOutliner, and my wife's with Quicken. Sure, it's not really bloatware and more like freebies, but it's good to remember that Macs don't

Other trick to make the other person feel special when getting a phone call: pick up the phone and, after identifying who it is, say "hold on, I need to get rid of someone on the other line", put on mute for a few seconds and come back.

Keep in mind that two of the co-founders are Dave Morin and Shawn Fanning. The former likely made many millions (real and paper money I'd think) as manager for the Facebook platform/Facebook Connect, the latter made many millions from Napst

One thing it can buy is time, and consequently leverage. At Demo Day, the investors will know that all the startups have some cash to last after YC, so that they don't have to rush on the first investor that comes along which should transla

I'm surprised google isn't doing speech recognition and translating these for us too. I'd think the problem is that you're piling up two technologies known for being very approximate and the results would be likely to be pretty far off to

The sibling thread of my comment seems to imply this is proper grammar. And, English not being my mother tongue, I won't disagree. (and I'll be happy to be corrected) However, it doesn't sound quite proper to me and I haven't heard it befor

It's not a Ponzi scheme though, is it? It might be a scam, but for it to be a Ponzi scheme, the developers would need to use the money they get from the first publishers to, say, buy the apps they've developed to show it gets great returns

I smell sarcasm in your comment. But the point is that yes, I expect Google/Gmail to understand that when I'm marking an email as "Spam" or "Not Spam" by clicking the buttons they put there, similar emails should be flagged (or not) accor

I'm not sure that's such an absurd question, depending on the CEO and the intern. I can right away think of one intern I've worked with that I would really like to work with later on, and I've worked with one CEO that I would never want to

I've had the same problem with the recently-released browser RockMelt: I can't help but reading it as "rock-me-it". Which, I admit, doesn't mean anything, while "dolt" is a word. (does RockMelt mean anything though?)
