As a South Australian I like that both our times are offensive so we can just split the difference and finally get an on the hour timezone like everywhere should be. Anywhere else and I'm pro summer time all the time.

The first ad blockers existed for popups and because ad networks were being used as a malware injection point. Only extremists had an issue with the standard JPG banner ad at the top of every page.

When the carbon tax* was introduced in Australia our tax free threshold was increased from $6k to $18k which more than covered the increase in costs caused by the tax. *This has since been repealed, a decision I strongly disagree with.
