You do have to wonder about a company where the CEO says one thing about FSD to the public, and one of their executives involved daily on the regulatory side tells the regulators, in writing, something wildly different.

Edit: I think I relied to the wrong comment on this sub-thread, but this still contributes, I think. My spouse and I recently purchased an extremely difficult to find plug-in hybrid EV. We had placed a hold on a specific vehicle destined fo

There seems to be a loose consensus (which I agree with) that takes a bit of a dim view toward patronizing a company (any company) where the scale is such that there’s no effective relationship between the company and non-paying users. I th

This mirrors my strategy personally and professionally. I’ve dealt with CF Trust and Safety before, and they are hands down the most opaque organization I’ve ever dealt with. It’s almost like they take pleasure in being withholding, far bey

I fail to understand how this would result in any meaningful differences from the current reality. The work of some is worth, at least fiscally, more than others. I’m not justifying that or defending it. I’m just saying that my work is not

Intent absolutely matters, but I submit that despite intent outcomes are often just as important. Not regarding race in the construction of a policy is not necessarily racism. But if the outcomes of a policy disproportionately negatively ef

This mirrors my thinking. At the end of the day you have to charge a price reasonable to the customer and sustainable to you for whatever you’re delivering and that’s going to fall somewhere relative to other bids and whatever Google tells

Toxicity depends on the people involved. It’s kind of like medicine. There can be high stakes and you want someone who has “done it” before. Someone who knows the statutory law, the case law, the precedents, who keeps up on that area of exp

This is an interesting thought. My mom passed away unexpectedly and in her sleep last year. She had been depressed for half a year prior because she had lost her spouse to cancer. She had not yet gone through their items. So between the hou

I totally get the sentiment. At the same time, plenty of us are trying to build businesses with no external funding, where every dollar might matter. Recently Datadog surprised me with a nearly 21x-over-typical bill for features that had pr

Depending on your needs, AWS is hands down one of the most expensive ways to put workloads into the cloud. At the same time it’s a bit difficult to compare them apples-to-apples. In my experience EC2 instances aren’t designed for reliabilit
