It's interesting to note that Apple applied for a patent[1] for Converting javascript into a device-independent representation which explicitly mentions LLVM. [1] http://www.google.com/patents/US20100153929

I'm in the same boat here. It makes me wonder if I am doing something so terribly wrong that I am somehow being lumped into the same group as people who can't code. Want to exchange e-mails and chat about it?

You refer to the structure in the past tense. Are we going to see bigger class sizes again with S13?

In the past I investigated compiling libgit2 with emscripten. Didn't spend a lot of time on it but I wonder if that could work.

We are starting to use Chromium Embedded for all of our in-game UIs, after going through Flash and (for a brief period) CEGUI. No major regrets here. In fact, we like HTML so much that we are considering moving our game tools (level editors

In tournament play, it isn't "banned" in a sense that you are fouled or disqualified for doing it. It's a map design and racial balance issue, which tournaments usually solve systematically by placing a neutral supply depot to prevent placi

Aside from the obvious HN and YC app services, I believe the office hours scheduling and probably any other internal YC service are all part of the same codebase running on the same server. Sounds like it could be a major problem for them.

Was this at a time before YC began favoring founders over ideas? Serious morbid curiosity here and not a troll attempt and I thank you for indulging me.

YC passed up on Drew the first time but now Dropbox is a huge success story. What gave him a better chance the second time around?

I am constantly being surprised by YC. They are moving quickly and I love it. A few months ago pg talked about trying to fix some of the scaling woes and you can already catch a glimpse of some of that work in articles about YC.

I would probably be using promises now if more libraries supported them. It seems like for now I'm left having to wrap functions myself... (let me know if I'm wrong!)

It always seems a little strange to me to reference issue IDs from a centralized system (GitHub) in your commit messages (and therefore the history) in a distributed version control system. It sure is convenient though.

I wish something like this existed for everything. It's incredibly easy to get left behind and just not know what is out there.

Unfortunately LinkedIn makes it hard to send you a message that isn't attached to a connection request. They have InMail, but it's a premium feature.

I think that too much emphasis on culture over qualifications could be just as bad. If your culture lies more on the casual/frat end of the spectrum that tends to breed mediocrity, you run the risk of ending up with a perpetually mediocre c

Fascinating. I was just thinking about something like this today because I wanted to use generators. JavaScript is odd in that it's hard to make changes to the language and get browser vendors to support them. Fortunately, all JavaScript im

Do you have personal e-mail address or a specific person people could contact? "jobs" and resumator/jobvite etc strike me as resume black holes. Thanks!

Definitely this. Use WPF if you can. I don't recommend trying to use WPF "as is", but suggest reading about the MVVM pattern and the available frameworks, particularly Caliburn.Micro and ReactiveUI.

As far as I know, the applications are scored as they are seen, the scores are averaged, and the top n% are invited. So you shouldn't read into the number of views you get.
