It's always weird when something like part of Google goes down. I just don't expect it because of how massive Google is and how much money they put into their site running reliably. I guess it's interesting to be reminded tha

I came into this article expecting to disagree with it... but the author actually makes a lot of good points. It's nice to see an acknowledgment that crypto is simultaneously useful (and actually pretty cool) but also not a magic solut

Everyone uses Google Play because it's convenient. But as a notable example, Fortnite refused to use Google Play for a while precisely because of that 30% fee, and it worked out pretty well for them. Eventually they gave in and put For

Apple has a lot of things going for it, but let's not pretend they're perfect and anyone who doesn't use their products is unreasonable. iOS still doesn't allow you to sideload without shenanigans (requiring your to not

Apple doing what they do is the main reason I will never buy an iPhone. It's my phone and I should be able to install whatever I want on it.

While it's obviously bad that people are making malware with this key, I do wonder if there could be a silver lining. Samsung and Google lock a lot of cool permissions behind system apps. I wonder if you could use this key to sign you

Having a mental health crisis should not mean that you're free of consequences. It's not like random people are driving up to their house to harass them, they're reporting them to a regulatory body who will investigate themse

Yeah, GitHub definitely has its issues. But I can be fairly certain that GitHub's CEO isn't going to suddenly go AWOL and have GitHub lose all funding.

While the seeming lack of communication from the Gitea owners (see the Gitea open letter) is a bit worrying, it does seem a bit premature to fork and potentially fragment the community before they've actually done anything.

The issue I have with Matrix/IRC/IRCv3 compared to Discord is that they don't really work well with public communities. Discord's server/channel/role system is amazing, and I don't know why everyone else i

At least on Android you can install alternate app stores like F-Droid. All you have to do is allow apps to be installed from unknown sources. If you use Apple, you're just out of luck unless you want to mess with whatever hacky workaro
