The problem with leaving both dimes and quarters is that you'd need dimes for any price that's a multiple of 10c but not 50c. Getting rid of dimes would make it so that every price payable with cash is payable entirely in quarters

How does DNS work with a setup like this? I assume that ISPs generally don't want people hosting servers on residential connections.

Are you sure? Supporting 802.11ac in 2012 is pretty amazing considering that the standard was finalized in late 2013.

Unlimited line length results in poor readability, and is a UX failure on large monitors. Limiting the number of characters per line makes the text easier to read. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/234578707_Opti

The kaboom already happened on user-generated media platforms. YouTube, Facebook, tiktok, and so on are flooded with AI-generated videos, photos, sounds, and so on. The sheer volume of this low-quality slop is because AI lowered the barrier

That's supply and demand I suppose. As demand for lightning dwindles due to a decreasing number of people actively using devices with lightning ports, the price will tend to drop. That's not an invalid reason to prefer lightning o

With so many things being cloud-based, moving to a new device often just requires logging in. See how easy setting up new devices is on Android and iOS. On the desktop side, the GNOME online accounts feature is pretty good at getting you mo

I imagine it wouldn't be that hard to 1) check the size of the documents directory and the existing NTFS partition on windows and 2) if the existing partition is < (1/2 the disk size - the size of the Linux installation), give

The argument in the post that copyleft licenses are freer seems handwavy at best. In a literal sense, obligations are restrictions on freedom, so yes, copyleft licenses are less free than permissive ones. Whether or not the overall benefits

So what's the issue with introducing explicit syntax to do exactly that if you want to? A safe default does not preclude you from opting out of safety with a bit of syntax or perhaps a compiler flag.

"want" is different from "will consume if offered". Arguably, the definition of "want" that most people use is one of higher-order desire. E.g. a drug addict wants drugs, but doesn't want to want drugs. Pe

No notifications? Depends on what your definition of "asking it" is, but having to explicitly do an action to check for notifications and even phone calls seems counter-productive for a phone.
