A similar one I just ran into: my Framework Desktop was idling @ 5W more than other reported numbers. Issue turned out to be the 10 year old ATX PSU I was using.

I don't think it's the same because the only USB-A difference was speed. Maybe yellow charging port. And USB 2.0 is still 'working' That's not the case with the other features I've mentioned.

USB-C ports have so many features that require extra connections, which makes them costly. And then adding extra ports without those features gets confusing to the end user if it can't properly communicated. Imagine having 4 USB-C port

That final video is recorded to look better than it is too: the delay is based on position, not time. In a real game you'd be moving slower and have the enemy's data on screen for longer.

That's not exclusive to kernel-mode anti-cheats. Even VAC, which is not kernel-mode, doesn't work in Proton: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/3225

This ignore actual history: anti-cheats started on community run servers. Because the majority of admins are not dealing with cheaters it because they enjoy it, but rather out of necessity. I see everyone here appreciating good admins, not

Yes, because players want to spend time moderating other players instead of playing the game. Sounds fun! Community servers literally invented anti-cheat. All current big name anti-cheats started as anti-cheats for community servers. And ad

Steam Input uses SDL input for the heavy lifting of the input part of Steam Input. I believe that change is actually enabling the libUSB option for SDL because it is required for that Switch 2 controller support for now.

I do not mean separate as in separate matchmaking. Just separate ports of the game. So Linux users are not running the same Windows port of the game as Windows users, just under Proton. That way you don't need a backdoor in the Windows

Yeah I'd say it's not accurate to say it's the same anticheat. Only the same name. It's like saying Excel supports iPad. Except Excel on iPad doesn't support VBA, so any more complicated spreadsheet will not work. I

Yeah, I could make a similar post for similar reasons. I already have a bunch of mini-PCs I collect like Raspberry Pis. I already have a mITX build with Bazzite installed on it that I would use over a Steam Machine because it's faster.

The controllers won't have lighthouse tracking though. The IR tracking is the headset tracking the controller's IR LEDs, which the Index controllers do not have. It might be possible to have the headset IR track the lighthouses, a

It's just Linux, so you should be able to use a USB drive fine. I believe the idea is to use the same microSD card as a Steam Deck and Steam Frame (which also has microSD). Easily move games between systems.

No DisplayPort 2.0 is interesting because RDNA3 should support that. More importantly, FSR4 (currently) doesn't support RDNA3, so you'll be limited on upscaling too.
