Web3 is already making inroads piece by piece into the web. It started with ssh. Once keys were exchanged, you did not have to trust the infrastructure providers anymore. You knew whom you are talking to and that the communication is not ta

Did you read the GDPR? I did not see any reference in there to location or "soil" being relevant to how it applies.

This website we are using, Hacker News, is making your (and my) computer send data packets to the USA. My understanding is that this is not in line with the GDPR. I like to talk to you. So yes, I have a problem if this communication channel

How would BunnyCDN and KeyCDN be able to have endpoints in the US that are beyond the reach of the US government? The recent rulings say that no packets are allowed to travel to the US because that would enable the US government to access t

Who decides what is legal and what is illegal? The politicians, the courts or agencies like the one that send letter to the author of this article. I would say it is the politicians. By making laws. Since the GDPR is the same in all EU coun

If using a CDN that is owned by a US company is illegal in Germany, then how can Germans run international websites? How would it be possible to hide a host that is behind CloudFront from Germans? I don't think is it possible. Even if

The current push to Mastodon made me look up their historical stats. This site was the only one I found. Is it reliable? If it is, there has been another a doubling in usage around May this year. Any ideas what caused it?

It would be better if this would be a bookmarklet and not a plugin. A plugin can read everything on every website you use. Your bank statements, your emails, which videos you watch on youtube, to whom you talk on Twitter and what you write
