Even with something running on it, that’s not automatically gonna give it access to any other hardware component in the phone. The phone itself is only interested in using it for identification.

Why would it? The SIM card itself has no real functionality, and cannot just randomly affect the radio components of the phone. It just stores its identity and keys, so the cell tower can identify and bill the right user. The way the locati

Definitely some tension, mainly concerning that there is primarily one gatekeeper, Evan, and he is very focused on 0.19, and therefore 0.18 (the current) is getting stale, and a lot of issues are not fixed/ignored. Problem is, 0.19 has

To contrast this, types help a LOT for me when developing something. The last thing you know are the implementation details of what you're doing, so I usually start by sketching what I want to do put, with some simple ADTs (algebraic d

I'm actually much more interested in what Google collects about me. At least for me, it's somewhat transparent that Facebook tries to slurp up all they can, but it's much less clear with Google, that seems to try to downplay

Unless you have you entire state stored persistently across refreshes, then hot loading takes care of getting into the exact state you were in again. Make a small change -> immediately visible in the UI. Before hot reloading, make small

Immutability and purity by default goes a long way to remove a lot of headaches. I could settle for immutability, but it seems ReasonML mixes things a bit.

A bit of a side-track, but I feel like I'm in a weird waiting phase with Pure FP JS. With Elm, I don't really feel like introducing it to my team before 0.19 hits, because it "feels" like it's around the corner, but

Flow and its unsoundness is horrible. Quite often I can get runtime errors for code that compiled without warnings, and nothing for code that is showing warnings, because, amongst others, Flow's union type resolution is pretty abysmal.

I think the EU is very aware that in the reality we live in, search engines are how people find stuff, not by looking through or searching directly on sites. Thus, this is one of those times where the lawmakers actually looked at technology

While Oni is still very young, it looks like one of the more promising Neovim frontends, and the development is progressing quite fast! If you are one of those types that often switch between editors, like me, then you might want to retain

Except the reality is that most people are in unions, covering them quite well (around 1.8 million[0] out of 2.7 million[1] in the job market). Many jobs have a firing period of 1, 3 and 6 months, rising with the time you've been the

If you want that view, then I guess nothing is ever free then, and it's a pointless word, so why even bother? Also, the tax is more complicated than simply throwing out 60.45%. It goes: - From 0 - 50,000 you pay 0% tax - Everything abo

I've never heard anyone express that concern. Rather, I would think the reason why small businesses won't hire would more likely be because the wages are so high here. You can quite easily hire for work for small periods, e.g. sum

Comparing to Denmark, which has way better employee laws than the US, is weird regardless because of the difference in unemployment benefits and general safety net there is in Denmark. Free hospitals, free education, etc.

>simply won't hire them in the first place Except that is simply not true, and very easily proven false simply by showing countries with actual employee protection and unions like e.g. Denmark.

For a more casual experience, yet still filled with interesting questions, you could check out Ghost in the Shell, the anime (unfortunately, the movie largely skips going into this in any serious way).

Is your question if lawns can brown out from too much daylight? Because they certainly can, and e.g. in South Korea they were brown most of the summer. (in reality, it's probably more a mix dry, warmth and light).

Definitely the tooling is still a big problem, but there has been great improvements lately! - HIE (Haskell IDE Engine) finally got some steam behind it, and has been chugging along for some time now, being very usable and targeting LSP! -

Are you saying that people should get help publishing papers, or that you think people doing work outside of university should be able to get the credits transferred? The former I'd get behind, the latter not so much.
