Implicit Conversion is indeed powerfull. But so is the goto statement. My experience with implicit conversion is: "Lets read this code, Ah i think it does X. Let's run it, wait what is happening, ow my why is this implicits here?&

What I dont like about scala is its "syntaxtic flexibility". Or how I would call it, non consistent syntax. Too much features: Scala has everything, it seems like the language designers coudn't make a choice about what is bes

Quit. Tell the reason why in a polite way. Write an email to the CEO of the organization, and to your bosses. In the end they will thank you. Find a nice job that suits your working style. For me for example, I worked one year in a big telc

While its cool demo of what CSS can do... The reality is: CSS is not meant for this. Its a cool demo but technical speaking its nonsense to use CSS for this. It should have been made with SVG, or a similar kind of technology. There are enou

This is a reason I just switched jobs from the services/consulting industry to a startup with a product. I just dislike working with clients. I think most software engineers prefer this. But I'm not sure.

The employeer is for a big part at fault here. Off course the employee should make its boundary clear, but the employer just didnt really care for his position. Otherwise they would have noticed much earlier.

Man I like this article so much. I worked at a company that aimed at 90% test coverage. Without taking into account how important the piece of code under test was. I think the 80/20 rule applies here. Only 20% of your code does 80% of the w

While I think dart is a nice language, I do not think JavaScript is bad enough to justify switching to a completely different language. I worked on some big js projects, and together with a good module-system and jslint with strictmode on i

Basically html = view, javascript = logic. Following from separation-of-concerns, you want to decouple the two.
