Why do they use strings as function using to-function ( https://github.com/component/to-function ). Like .select("age>10").map("adress.streetname"); While to-function is cool and your code is shorter and more readable. You must be aware

The biggest point he doesn't handle is speed: Viewing a news article in a fast newsreader app is much faster than downloading the whole website. I wrote an app which uses rss feeds and smart preloading of data when it is not yet visible. Ma

Sorry was not meant as a troll post. Indeed you are right. I got confused by the syntax. My fault. However consistency in its syntax is something I value in a language. Scala is too much influenced by Java, imho. B.t.w apart from these kind

You got me there :p. But to be honest I dont have a lot of expiernce with clojure and kotlin. More experience with Scala. However I just found out about Kotlin. Purely functional is cool... But i'm not sure if the next gen language is purel

Disclaimer: This is not really related to futures and akka. I love them. But I just have some comments on the code and on Scala in general. While I like the concepts in Scala and Akka very much, I have to say that there are some big disadva

I hope they fork it. Big Enterprises like VMWARE shoudnt do this, they should open source it, and they can thrive more. Look what happened to Hudson.

Wow I never heard of Kotlin. There was a presentation about it at Devoxx but since I didnt visit it. Looks like a simple yet powerfull language. While still remaining type safety. Going to look into it!

I really like Scala. But i have some thoughts on this article: - Its not objective: It's from Typesafe. Logically they are not going to mention the negative sides of Scala I used Scala myself and I think it is a very good approach to combin

Lots of internal apps at google are written on top of appengine. For example the android developers portal is written on top of it. So i woudnt worry too much.

They implemented a scrolling list by recycling the views. This is done in native ios or android apps. So they should write a more generic component which could do that (wihtout the scrollbars and stuff) I think this is exactly what was done

As the WHATWG clearly states, HTML5 is a living standard, and evolving constantly. W3C likes to have solid specs and therefore freezes it and gives it a name. Its nothing more than tagging a certain timepoint with a version number. I prefer

Stress test, load test before launch! It doesn take more then an hour, and you quickly know what your upper limits are, and where the bottlenecks are. I use gatling in favor of JMeter: https://github.com/excilys/gatling
