Oh please, V is a meme or marketing scam not a competitor to any other PL. I'm glad someone calls V's unfounded claims from time to time so maybe less people will waste time and money on V.

Instead of asking distros to drop your package, just state that the only supported channel of distribution is flatpak. Mercilessly close any issue opened by a user of an unofficial package. Simple as that.

Author's examples of „good” use of YAML still would be more readable as Lua[1] or JS code. Return one table/object and call two functions instead of clunky YAML stuff like Fn::Invoke. [1]: http://ix.io/3XTk

80 Better 18 Same 35 Worse Golfing is not the best representation of day to day text editing, but I must say that optimal Kakoune solutions are usually pretty close to normal workflow.

I've been using it as daily driver for 3+ years. I switched from Spacemacs. Focus on selections, visual feedback and simple integration with other Unix tools are main differentiating features in comparison to vi family of editors.

I don't get it. What's the point of using Snaps on server when it's simpler to just run containers?

My experience with the snaps was so horrible that I avoid Ubuntu and other distros that install snapd by default. Thankfully, Linux Mint 20 disables support for Snaps entirely. There is a short list of things I dislike about snaps: - very s

Medvednikov seems to be good at marketing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Given the over-prommise-under-deliver launch of V, it boggles my mind that it gained so much traction on GH.

For simple templating I use my own version[1] of pp[2] preprocessor. The idea behind it is ridiculously simple: everything between ^#!$ markers is shell script. Output of the script is pasted verbatim in the document. [1]: https:/

How keyboard macro can possibly replace an editor that operates on text objects? Let's say you have 'foo bar' string, and you want to change quotes to " In Kakoune this operation could look like this: <a-a>&#

asdf is nice except is uses shims. They are pretty slow. If you offten run script as part of your prompt for example, it gets noticable pretty quickly.

Fortunately my bank app & Revolut works on my Lineage OS phone. Google Pay won't work tho. I use Lineage for MicroG, so I can even install apps from Play store. I wouldn't be able to use LOS without it.
