This means I can spare my future kids all those old yeller knockoff twist endings. Many of my school friends got hit by Marley and Me back in the day and I am not letting them get away with that cheap tactic again.

My point is that an engine with easy onboarding and relevant functionality would address most developers' requirements and likely earn it a place in many companies' toolboxes but to address your second point, off the top of my hea

O3DE requires "40-100 GB of free disk space" and a separate compiler. Godot (3.5) on the other hand requires a paltry 72.6 MB. Even less if you go for older versions or recompile it without certain features. It comes fully feature

Yeah, they were a pretty early adopter from what I recall. I think it might have been as early as 1.1!

I'm quite infatuated with this project. There's a rich history of beloved RPG Maker 2000/2003 games and I'm glad people are putting in the effort to preserve them. Actually, people are still making them to this day! IIRC

I'm glad that Red is getting back on track. I've always been keeping my eye on new languages that promise to go fully self hosted and there's just something I really like about red and it's accompanying red/system d

Some day I hope to try this experiment myself with a goat in the background ...although it might be a little tricky to assess effectiveness without a control and the fact that goats flip-flop between photobomb and photogenic whenever they f

Microsoft Fine Artist is actually a very good educational tool. Subtly teaching kids about vanishing points and perspective is genius, hats off to whichever team was responsible for it.

Scaling and rotating sprites definitely used to be overused but I don't think they're that bad considering they were featured in many classic consoles (GBA, DS, Sega Saturn, PS1 etc.) and too many arcade boards to count I dislike

This has some pretty nifty stuff in it (not to mention all the cool interviews) but my favourite part is them describing the sensible soccer clone AI as that's one of the trickiest things to get right in gaming.

Mindgeek was the proposed enforcer of digital age verification in a previous incarnation of this bill. If anything, Mindgeek et al have a lot to gain from this.

Not a J2ME developer but I've heard time and time again that it had extremely poor cross platform compatibility and each different handset needed modifications to the source to get it to function. This was back when there were a millio

I don't think I've seen any omnibus bills in the UK but there's still a lot of nasty euphemisms. Not sure if there's a legal system that DOESN'T use nasty euphemisms though...

I've played a bit of this before around a year ago and was suitably impressed (even if you couldn't play a round yet and most items were just non-functional sprites you could pick up) Looks like they've added a lot more in th

Don't worry. Many companies are already replacing it with a simple webcam image of your mug (Hopefully directly stored on a server somewhere so it can be used for identity theft purposes).
