Well there's your problem. Use Intellij IDEA. It makes every other IDE you may have used look like garbage. Also, the ADT bundle that Google now has works way better than downloading Eclipse and installing the plugin. Although, I agree with

Sweet delicious wonderful poison mmmm... I love Coke and other pops. I try to limit my intake though. I drink a lot of Yerba Mate tea too, and that supposedly has links to cancer (what doesn't these days). So I'm not going to worry too much

Why do you want to rely on others for protection? You don't have to search very hard to find stories of peoples houses being broken into, they get assaulted, women raped, etc. I believe that I have the right to protect myself and my family.

Good story. Am I the only one who read the title as "We Found Our Son in Subway?" As in the restaurant.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I agree that it looks too much like an Apple product, but I think the differences they made are nice and the machine over all looks better than the Macbook Pro. I am disappointed though. One of the imag

Why wouldn't they support USB 3.0? Is that a typo in the article?

I wouldn’t say you were boasting, I’d say you were lying. You happen to know off the top of your head that: African black wood is the heaviest lumber. That’s the first thing you thought of? Really? What wood kerosene barrel would have been

This guys other articles are really good too. He has a couple on escorts that are really interesting. The article he has on the last words of inmates being put to death is absolutely fascinating and incredibly saddening.

This is really amusing to me because I was just thinking about this today. I was thinking about it in the context of humanism and how we seem to be living in a culture of antihumanism right now. Over the decades this pendulum swings back an

Isn't Hacker News suppose to be about tech stuff? Why is this political stuff making it to the top? I realize a lot of people here fly a lot and so anything TSA related is relevant to them, but there are other places on the internet to disc

I did not say that The London Review of Books was a crappy blog. I said that the article belonged on a crappy blog. Implying that it was like a poor quality rant from a personal blog and not worthy of being published in The London Review of

What a truly terrible article, how on earth did it get published? This is the type of small minded, stereotyping, garbage that should never make it past some hack's crappy blog. I looked up the author on Wikipedia and I find it rather ironi

Typical tech punditry. Small minded, short sided, and bandwagon hopping. I particularly like the fact that there is a "share this on Facebook" button a the end of the post.

Thanks for giving your insight, I found this post really interesting. Without going too far off topic, I was just curious, what kind of work did they have you do there? It just seems like the game industry doesn't get a lot of interns due t

I would like to point out that the Gimp now has a single window mode that is available under the windows menu. This makes the interface magnitudes better, but there is still a lot of work that needs to be done. The Gimp definitely doesn't m

I have lots of CS friends who say the same thing. However, they never seem to be that aware of the options that are out there. Getting a PC doesn't mean you have to get a Dell or an HP, there are lots of options out there. Lenovo makes some

Unity may be a sub-par desktop environment at the moment, but at least they tried to do something new and innovative. Elementary just looks like an even more Apple like version of an Apple product.

The problems with higher education don’t solely rest on the universities; the consumers are equally to blame. I’m sick of people talking about going in dept 200k to get a bachelors degree. If you paid 40k or even 15k a year on liberal arts
