Perhaps people are under the impression that I am pro-death penalty because of my posts here. I am pro-death penalty in theory/philosophy, but I am not for it in the real world. Simply for practical reasons (cost of appeals process, an

Statistics matter. Not everyone on death row is innocent. How many people on death row kill other inmates? EDIT: I meant to say how many people serving life sentences. But I suppose it applies to people on death row who never actually get p

I live in a medical marijuana state, but I think alcohol is still more of a controlling factor. However, I think weed is replacing it in the younger generation. This is especially true for the "just out of college" population. In

I agree. I read A Brave New World as a kid, but being relatively young (22) it wasn't that long ago (maybe 7 years ago?) and it was post 9/11. It blew my mind how closely the culture of the society in the book resembled society to

Why is it a testament to Jobs? I doubt he wrote even a single line of code any of Apples OSs. Did he design the UIs or did he hire someone and then just approve what THEY worked on and designed? I hate how people talk about Apple and give J

As a Michigan resident I second this. I don't support his politics really, but he is the perfect example of what a politician is supposed to do for his constituents. I often visit his FB page to see what he has been up to. He always ha

Why are people focusing so much on the salary? Besides, for all we know that 122k is his base salary he got serious bonuses, stock options, etc and so he valued his annual earnings at close to 200k.
