It’s in the lower center of your visual space. You just don’t notice it because your visual system has accepted it as normal. Try closing one eye and looking toward your nose. It’s right there.

There are also free utilities that make the menubar black so the notch doesn’t stand out so much. Have you tried that? At least then you don’t loose the top part of the screen.

It’s just how the human visual system works. How do you feel about the large amount of your visual space is blocked by your nose. Close one eye and look at your nose. It’s surprising how much is blocks but you are essentially blind to it.

In display preferences there is a dock panel that you can drag to the side or bottom of any screen. I’ve never noticed it moving on its own. There have been times when it defaulted to displaying on an external monitor but I was able to move

Or when you notice that your nose occupies a large space in the middle of your vision. You’ve gotten used to it so that you don’t notice your nose unless you close one eye and really look for your nose. Then it’s there blocking your vision

Those aren't really major version numbers. Those are release numbers. Chrome and Firefox are not using semantic versioning anymore.

the market for M2/3 chip machines is not those with M1s but those people who are still on the Intel machines. People don't usually replace their MacBooks annually. Most people keep them for several years.

Yes, in older designs with the smaller screens it does need to take over. EVs are moving to larger screens where there is room to place CarPlay into one section of the screen and keep other areas “native”.

What do you base that on? If you are an HN reader there is a good chance that you do some kind of technical work that may push a computer more than a basic user who just does browsing, email, social media, and text-based work. 8GB is enough
