Thank you - I couldn't say this better myself. You have captured the essence of a problem with Google - trust. After GAE and treatment of "non-essential" products under Larry, I have lost the trust in Google as a reliable business partner,

Redshift is based on ParAccel, not on Postgres. ParAccel uses APIs similar to Postgres due to historical reasons, but not the technology. For a basic overview: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paraccel As for the rest of the article, it feels

LinkedIn and hammers have one thing in common: they are tools to get something else done, they are not the end game. In that they are similar, in everything else they are not. This commonality (both being tools) is crucial to the reason tha

Oh boy. When has it become fashionable to quite X and announce it to the whole world? LinkedIn is just a tool - it's usefulness depends on what your current needs are. It's useless today and useful tomorrow. Just like any other tool - i.e.

I was replying Daeken's comment on why $300 seems to be a high number. This number is not representative of average spent by a majority of users but that's what most people assume when they hear "average $300 of monthly revenue per user". F

It's the latter. A small number of big spenders ("whales" in the industry lingo) can easily skew average number. Median is a better metric than average here.

I actually removed LinkedIn app from my Android phone. I don't understand why a glorified web page viewer needs to be able to manage accounts on my phone? In light of this, sharing my calendar details (and probably more) does not surprise m
