I get the impression overall they have massively under invested in web infra, security, and privacy. The AI is one thing, running a performant, secure, and private web platform is its own thing. I really get the impression this is the resul

Performance per watt on an M2 is better than anything else you can buy. Barely generates heat. Considering for $600 each and I don’t need to spec anything out and can just drive to the Apple Store any time I need a few more and it’s really

Mission accomplished I guess? Utterly soulless and boring - for a computer no less - but if that’s what they wanted, sure.

Also, totally missing the entire point of the sorry that seemingly silly and unimportant things are, in fact, the most important of all. 0/10 take, please revisit source material.

Kinda fascinating, it almost surgically removes the entire human interest angle which is the soul of the story that makes it land so strongly. This summary is flat and boring, like a summary of a quarterly SEC filing.

iMessage is a huge part of Apple growth in the USA, as the needle has just flipped to over 50% of US users on iOS I think it will rapidly accelerate. Not being on iMessage for many Americans is MUCH stranger than not using Facebook.

I think you’re vastly overestimating the degree to which the us government wants to keep them here, and I’d be far from surprised to see caps put in place for Chinese student visas within the next five years.

Once you obtain subject mastery you just need the read the abstracts. To get a cold start look for a “survey”, “literature review”, or “systematization of knowledge” papers. Those organize a lot of papers, check out the ones that look cool

It hasn’t been legal since 2009, and there’s only a handful of enforcement actions. EU regulators are a joke.

Yea, this is a truly impressive launch. If even 25% of people who logged in just to see the new shiny thing stuck around and became a DAU that’s utterly remarkable. This framing is absurdist.

Multiprocessing has a lot of issues, one of which is handling processes that never complete, subprocesses that crash and don’t return, a subprocesses that needs to spawn another subprocesses, etc.

It’s almost as though none of this was about business and totally about being an imagined champion for a mob of internet losers fighting a battle nobody with an ounce of sense, reason, or self respect buys into? Big brain stuff. Big brain.

Elon had this planned out from the start, 50 steps ahead. Make an outrageously high bid on a site with no consistent profit, try desperately to get out of the deal, and fail (as a misdirection of course), alienate power users, kill 50% of r
