Linux still has a lot of assumptions baked into the page size. Power9 and some aarch64 systems have 16kB pages, but occasionally you run into some corner cases - for example, you can't mount a btrfs partition created on a x86 machine o

libavif (and the libraries that back it) have a speed parameter to control the CPU/quality tradeoff. Have you tried tweaking that and seeing if you get acceptable speed?

The difference between the AOM license and React license is that the React license terminates if you sue Facebook for any patent infringement, whereas the AOM license only terminates if you sue an AOM user for an AV1-related patent.

AV1 has some support for progressive images as well. It hasn't been used much in AVIF yet, though there are a couple of PRs that contain some sample images encoded progressively: https://github.com/AOMediaCodec/av1

I also have 1.1.3. Maybe what's missing is the libreoffice package? It seems like all these types are provided by /usr/share/mime/packages/libreoffice.xml on my system (which is read by update-mime-types). Argu

There are a couple of FIFO "mailboxes" and spinlock registers between the two cores - I imagine they expect most of the synchronization to happen via that. It is a bit weird of a configuration though - is this the first dual core

UFI does actually support 1.2MB! This is because many Japanese computers, like the PC-98, spun their 3.5 inch floppies at 360rpm to match the sector layouts of the 5.25 inch one. Many USB floppy drives support this - if you insert a 3.5 inc

It can't. (on some platforms, the video ends up on a compositor subsurface, but so can many other portions of an app so trying to make a PiP feature out of that would probably not work well)

The Hub75 boards are great, but aren't really comparable to the ulx3s as they have extremely limited I/O options (a whole ton of output-only TTL level shifters, + 2 gigabit interfaces). Great if your project fits into those constr
