Mining is not a race - in fact, the mining being progress-free is a really important part of PoW. If you have a low power setup, you have a very small chance of winning the reward, but it's proportional to your power over the total net

Probably things like spectrograms, waveforms, etc. For a lot of effects it doesn't really pay to GPU accelerate their drawing - in this case looks like REAPER is using custom drawing code into an image, but the compositing these image

A lot of manufacturers have parts designed as drop in replacements for older parts, sometimes even with similar looking part numbers. Another thing that I often do is use Digikey's search and check their stock quantity to find out what

No, in fact in that circuit the PN2222 is the only thing limiting current to your LED. If you switch that to a MOSFET you'll blow up your LED unless you add a series resistor. (are you sure you aren't already giving too much curre

Digikey does have the gate capacitance, just specified in a weird way - gate charge @ voltage. Most higher power FETs are always specified @ 10V gate, so it's directly equivalent.

Nothing, but iPhones only load software signed by Apple (on the app store), so said alternative SDK would be useless as Apple won't sign software made with it (and regardless, they won't sign an alternative browser engine as a mat

It's not a restriction on JITs that's the problem (though certainly it would be a limitation), it's this: “Apps that browse the web must use the iOS WebKit framework and WebKit Javascript.”

Blender has my favorite release notes: https://www.blender.org/features/2-78/ Though that's cheating a bit because it's easier to get pretty pictures of features in Blender.

Another example is Mesa, where chips like the Raspberry Pi's VC4 and Adreno support desktop OpenGL because Mesa already has much of the plumbing in place, whereas the proprietary drivers only implement ES.

I think the complaints about peripheral source are valid, but they have had it running on silicon for months, so the answer to "will it work" is pretty clear.

Yes and no, there's a standard API called D-Bus. If you want to browse it you can run a program like D-Feet and choose "session bus". It's not tied to a particular language though, rather you need bindings to it. In addi

You can if you have cheap electricity. The biggest downside is that you'll need ASICs, and only one company publicly sells them. Naturally, they are priced such that your margins will be hair thin.

I don't see how VP9 hardware decoders shipping late means that H.265 wins? There's zero H.265 content on the web right now, so if anything H.265 would need to catch up. Also, the ffvp9 software decoder in Firefox is quite effici
