I live in Baltimore, they just pile on some asphalt and call it a day. We are left with these massive bumps in the road. I'll take anarchy road over Baltimore City's work any day.

It is likely that they view the speakers as advocates of ideas that limit the individual freedoms of others. Making it about free speech is a bit of a misdirection. When that speech furthers a system they disagree with, they are likely to m

I feel 5 dollars is expensive for a monthly. Servers are pretty cheap, storage is pretty cheap. There is no realistic way to pay a few pennies per month though. Maybe 5 dollars yearly. If it's a not for profit then they just need to op

Yea, this one happens a lot. I was getting scope 101 results for something I was searching yesterday. I've basically given up on mobile search, it feels worse there.

I think you just solved a huge grievance I've been having with Google search. I get absolute trash results that are hardly even tangential to what I searched. I'm going to try out this verbatim thing.

While it's anecdotal I was heavy on AIM and never got into Facebook chat. It's actually a bummer for me, I loved chatting and the chat apps all kinda died off.

It would be much nicer to just build more housing, rather than taking away landlords' profits while not addressing the lack of supply.

I joke that the way to afford rent in LA is to live in your car. I grew up there and last visit I had one friend who sleeps in his van when he sublets his apartment and another who was looking to buy a van to live rent free for a while. It&

The problem with social media is that it isn't social. Telling me which article to read isn't social. Showing me someone's status isn't social. Posting a tweet and getting 2 likes is not social. Commenting on HN is proba

Chat rooms and games with self-hosted servers are some of the best social media I have ever used. I wish there was a focus on building meaningful communities online.

I think a large problem is people often attribute their loss to their team's lack of skill rather than the excellent performance of the other team. Sometimes you get stomped. Sometimes you're playing against a really cohesive grou

If you feel strongly about privacy, you could switch to something like Proton Mail. There is a free tier but you would have to dance around the space limitations (500 MB). I personally still use gmail but have been considering moving away f

My thought on this is say there is a network of 1 million peers. You join the network and post in the chat with a signed message. Now there are 1 million clients who want to verify that message and hit you up for your key at the same time.
