Not a racial paradise, but a relatively young place where there is less adherence to that stuff. LA riots were a long time ago. Largest white supremacist population? So what's that mean, a few thousand? My high school had what was labe

The Yosemite system is a lottery now. It was first-come-first-serve but tour companies (read: scalpers) would buy them all up. There were a couple of years where it was incredibly difficult to get a permit. The lottery system is pretty grea

Disclaimer, I'm on my phone so I haven't dug into the source yet. How is this used? For an unimplemented language, would I be coming up with how that language's instructions map into Sparta rules? Anyhow, this looks awesome.

Comments like this remind me how much I like California. It's nice to be in a place that doesn't conflate regional identity with race or religion. It was a surprise to me when living on the east coast how often people asked about

Banning children from uploading to large public sources sounds extreme but it could actually create really good market conditions for host-your-own services. A group of friends could have their own video host.

A principle that is discussed is hacking back. It actually almost passed in Georgia, USA. [1] The idea would be that if something was attacking you, you could go on the offense to disrupt it. Personally, I think that would be a lot of fun.

That was my first thought too, about how this can cut down on new information that isn't supported by medical literature. I have some weird food issues that I can't find any research on. Some people with similar issues go on an al

For sure, that filters it to established products and not prototypes though. I have a garbage landing page now, but when I applied I just had some barebones features prototyped. I might have read a little much into the "seed" part

I'm a celiac and I have a slightly different take on it. I've cut out gluten, sugar, caffeine, sodium nitrites, and MSG as triggers for sinus headaches (took years of trial and error to identify them all). First, I love hearing ca

What's weird about this application is that there is no field asking what the business is. There are a lot of questions around that (why is now a good time, who is your target customer), but there is no elevator pitch. As well, a lot o

The thing that bothers me about this is that banks have a monopoly on this type of business. Outside of being a bank you need to register as a money service business which is extremely cumbersome.

I think it would be far more effective to restrict entire freeways to be HOV rather than add a lane so a few more 4+ person vehicles can carry solo drivers to work. They simply aren't being used efficiently. I take VTA everyday to work

Cars suck though. Seriously. Roads take up a ton of space, traffic meets whatever capacity we provide it. They're pretty dangerous. I would much prefer to reimagine cities with fewer cars, and take care of long distance transportation

Isn't wealth redistribution via taxes treating the symptom and not the cause? We should look at the structures that allow massive wealth inequality to form in the first place. This could be a lot of things besides tax policy.

The sinus headaches are a physical reaction though. It's from constriction of the sinuses. When you take these it relaxes and the snot in your nose drains. I had sinus headaches for 23 years (not realizing they were sinus headaches), t

Take the sentence - he doesn't like dogs. This implies that he has preferences and those preferences do not contain dogs. It is one thing to say the universe lacks consciousness, or that it is incapable of care because it is inanimate.
