I would be interested in having some stats by education level and profession. From my current personal experience as a CS student, I would say it is easily above 50%.

(From Canada) I see a lot the company Vanhack ( https://www.vanhack.com/ ) in my LinkedIn feed. They help people in SWE move abroad to work. Maybe they could help you?

Same for me. Lost less than you, but I was almost laughing when I heard the news. Maybe we should crowdsource a movie to regain the money lost. That's quite a plot we have here.

I think this link https://github.com/marp-team/marp is more relevant since this was the preview app and the ecosystem is now much more extended.

None to be honest. I migrated my projects back to express. Most of the packages for koa are either unmaintained or not very active.

I agree with you. I think we will see the Universal Basic Income appearing sooner rather than later. The economy needs a recycling mechanism and if it can't be through wages than it must take another form.

I went to write the exact same thing. I fear this will only happen more and more once edge becomes chrome... It is a sad state of things.

That's an interesting point though, if you made the mistake of publishing a private key at some point and force-pushed your repo to remove it you expect it to be gone from the system, but it's not. I wonder if you could actually r

Legit question: what about the data stored about you, but that you have no longer access to? I have no clue if that is also covered by GDPR?

I mostly agree with you, but I still think it makes no sense to not have a regulated title. I mean you can't become a civil engineer if you don't study civil engineering, why is it different for software will remain a mystery to m

[Off topic] Can someone help me understand why computer scientists call themselves engineers in the US? Is there a reason beside the fact that it is probably not regulated? Here that would be so totally illegal if you are not a member of th

Yes, but that is not really the issue here. To take your analogy, you have the RIGHT to go to a local mechanic who can get parts for your car. Apple is trying as hard as they can to kill the 3rd party repair shops and make there life diffic

Totally agree and thats what they still teach us at school in EE and CE (believe it or not). I worked a bit on embedded devices during internships and the only thing I saw is C sometimes with an API to abstract the registers (I was in the w

Totally agree with you, my portfolio is my github. I don't need fancy graphics to show I am a good engineer, just look at the code I wrote.

We (speaking for majority of Québécois) definitely don't care much about the ROC and I don't think we should be offended of that. It's just the reality of two cultures forced to coexist by a foreign power :/ Ans it'

I feel you (from Quebec too, working abroad). The thing that shocked me the most in europe is the lack of facial tissues, cleaning stuff and many other things we generally have in the pharmacies.

Yeah it's one of the most annoying thing in Quebec. Especially when you need to rent for just a few months, it's almost impossible. It's not a "Montreal" thing though, it's a province wide thing. It's eve
