In Denmark it is €3.08 for a 100g letter. This appears to be the cost without subsidy, with the mail service now run by a private company. It's fine. I receive less than the average 10 letters per year (including junk mail). I check th

In 2004 I think I would have a floppy disk in my schoolbag. Actually buying a new pack would probably have been a few years prior to that, they last a long time with only occasional use.

Photoshop does have (since the late 1990s or so) algorithms to detect and prevent editing images of currency. The power of the AI tools is so great in comparison to a non-AI image editor that there's probably debate on who -- the user,

You should be explicit here; Should it be legal to (1) create and (2) distribute an AI generated sexual image of a (1) 18 year old, (2) 12 year old? (In both cases without their consent.) What about a real photograph?

Many, many people want to double or halve documents. Teachers at school would print (or photocopy) A4 in half to save paper, or doubled for the blind girl in my class. I'd do it myself at university to save paper (money). I don't

If the artist thinks the distortion of a vinyl record player suits their music, they should add it to the recording on the CD.

The oldest CDs are from 1982 (43 years old) and are still working perfectly fine. I don't have any that old, but I have some from the late 1980s which my dad bought. All still fine, my parents listen to them in the car.

A friend was selling a parent's vinyl collection on eBay, and a couple of times buyers asked to be sent only the slipcase to save weight and therefore postage costs.

The EU's safety rules for children's toys are impressive -- I read them out of curiosity when I was 3D printing a toy. e.g. dropping a 1kg steel block onto the toy, and checking it doesn't break in an unsafe way (section 8.7

The drain should be within the shower area, with all the bathroom floor draining that way. If it's in the centre of the room it's been done very badly. I've never seen this in Denmark, even in some very old apartment building

The bathroom needs to be destined properly. My shower in Denmark has no door, and no curtain, but the splashes don't reach very far away, and aren't in the way of anywhere I'd want to walk after showering anyway. I've of

I used to live round the corner from a private school in London (ages 5-16 or 5-18, not sure). They were never on the tube with me, but plenty of children would be arriving at about 8:15, as I was departing to get to work for 9:00. Private

Denmark also does this — Copenhagen to Århus on 10 December at 10:52 is £16 if purchased now. My example wasn't especially ridiculous. Try something like Stansted Airport to Birmingham — 200km, 45 minutes slower than driving, and £97 —
